Tuchel Expresses Disappointment Over Home Fan Atmosphere Despite Emphatic Wales Victory.

The England head coach expressed his disappointment that the Three Lions team did not enjoy greater backing from the home spectators during their commanding friendly win against Wales on Thursday evening.

Tuchel was happy to see his team maintain their good form, with goals from Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the first 20 minutes settling the match. But, he was unhappy with the mood at the iconic venue.

“With one and a half training days to prepare against a organized team and we did very well,” Tuchel commented. “It could have been 5-0 up at half-time. We missed the fourth and fifth ones. The stadium was silent. There was no support from the stands. Our team gave their all to win.”

“How much more can you provide in 20 minutes? We didn’t let them get away. If you hear just Wales fans for half an hour, it’s regrettable because the squad warranted better encouragement today.”

“I maintain this statement. There’s nothing more than being 3-0 in a rivalry match. I hoped for a greater support in periods where it becomes tough.”

“In the second half, to cheer us on, there was a bit too much support for Wales. It might have aided us to recharge, but it is what it is and so be it.”

Selection Choices Justified by Display

Away from potentially starting a fight with supporters, Tuchel also raised eyebrows by omitting Bellingham and Foden from his squad. Yet the decision was validated by Rogers impressing again in the attacking midfield role and netting his maiden goal for his country.

“That’s his style,” the head coach noted. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is fighting for his place.”

Bellamy Seeks Improvement from Loss

Craig Bellamy expressed hope that his team, who host a strong Belgian side in a important World Cup qualifier on next week, learn from their awful performance in the opening period.

“This is why I scheduled this game,” Bellamy commented. “I wanted to assess our standing. What are our ambitions? Who do we want to be? Today fills me with drive.”

Fitness Worry for Striker

Ollie Watkins was taken off at half-time after clattering into a post and is a concern when the national team play Latvia in the Latvian capital in a qualifier on next week.
